It’s true. If you look after your staff, they’ll look after the productivity and success of the company. We believe that working at EnviroVent is a rewarding experience thanks in some part to a whole raft of staff wellbeing initiatives that we have put together. Whether it’s understanding and support for the mind and body or schemes and perks that make life that bit easier and more enjoyable, our wellbeing programme is making a difference right across the team.
At EnviroVent, we’re lucky to have employees who really value their health. A lot of them are keen athletes who relish a challenge such as park runs, 5Ks, 10Ks, half and even full marathons. To help out, we’ve funded the entry fee for staff members to take part in the Harrogate 10K and the Great North Run. We’ve even helped with sponsorship.
Cycling is a great way to keep fit and commute which has the added benefit of reducing your carbon footprint. Our Cycle to Work Scheme enables our staff to effectively buy a bike and cycle accessories tax free. By saving on tax and national insurance, it cuts the cost by up to 42%, spreading the cost and deducting it from wages, before tax, over 12-months.
Our ultimate aim is for all our staff to be the best they can be. That’s why we have a health and wellbeing platform with top tips and health guides to keep our team fighting fit. We also have a free, totally confidential helpline available 24/7 365 days of the year which is designed to offer health, wellbeing, legal and financial advice.
Our innovative products are designed to bring health benefits, providing fresh air into homes, extracting toxic air, and removing condensation, damp and mould issues. Our mission statement is to have ‘An EnviroVent in every home’, which is something we promote from within. That’s why all our colleagues are entitled to a free EnviroVent product that we professionally install in their homes.
The health and safety of our staff is vitally important. We have a comprehensive Health & Safety Management System that covers all areas of our business. We also offer Occupational Health Support to our entire team of engineers and production staff. This support includes a regular health check and support, if needed, following an accidents. In fact, this is also available to any other staff we feel might also benefit.
Birthdays are special, after all, you only get one a year. That’s why we give every EnviroVent employee half a day off, irrespective of how long they’ve been part of our team. They got to choose when to take their free half day, too. It can be on the big day itself or anytime during the week of their birthday.
Good health starts with good nutrition. To add extra zest into our working day, we have enlisted a local fruiterer to deliver a fresh box of fruit every Monday to our Head Office. We encouraged our colleagues to help themselves, boost their 5-a-day intake and make eating fresh fruit part of their daily routine.
Physical and mental health is something we take incredibly seriously, both of which might need immediate attention. We have a dedicated defibrillator at our Head Office and we also have a dedicated first aiders’ room. We see mental health to be as important as physical, which is why we recently started training select colleagues to be mental first aiders to provide mental health support.
Installing ventilations systems nationwide, it’s essential that we provide our drivers with support 24/7, especially in the event of accidents involving third parties. All our vans and company owned cars are covered for collisions, incidents and theft. We also provide full AA Breakdown Assistance, ATS Tyre Service and National Windscreens cover for our fleet. It keeps us moving.
Sometimes our employees might need a car for the weekend as they don’t have one, or they’ve just bought a sofa and need to get it home. We give any of our colleagues the opportunity to borrow a company car or van for 7 days over a rolling 12-month period, should they need to. It’s just another way we can make life easier for our employees and save them money and hassle.
We love saving our colleagues money. We give our entire team access to AirSpace – a discount cashback and offers platform. It gives everyone 100s of savings across some of the UK’s largest brands, instore and online. Supermarket shops, discount days out, gym membership, insurance – you name it. Plus it provides home workout plans and access to 100s of Hello Fresh recipes with full nutritional information.
Where you work is important. You spend a large proportion of your life at work, so it should be as accommodating a place as possible, after all, it’s a second home to many. Our bright and spacious new building in 2022 has a positive vibe and has purpose-built wellbeing rooms available for extra-curricular activities.
Learn MoreIt’s not taken a global pandemic to force us realise the importance of flexible working. For years, we’ve recognised why the flexibility of where and when we work counts and how it helps our business to flourish. That’s why we welcome applications for flexible start and finish times, part time hours and home working for most of our roles. We love flexibility and so do our staff.
We’ve always put our colleagues’ health first when gearing back up and reintroducing our people back into the work. Whether it’s office, production or staff out on the road, we’ve thought ahead and introduced a well thought out Bridging Plan. This ensures our colleagues are able to work with real confidence.
Many of our employees have families which we care about. We offer health cash plans with affordable monthly payments. They’re a type of health insurance, that helps them budget for everyday health needs and unexpected ones. Health Shield enables our employees, partners and children to claim cashback on dental check-ups, fillings, specialist consultations, eye tests and much more up to annual limits.
Vaccinations have been under the microscope recently for obvious reasons. Covid aside, flu isn’t just a bad cold, it can be much more serious. Because we want our employees to feel at their best, and not everyone is eligible for a free vaccination through the NHS, we give all our team the opportunity to have a free flu jab.
We all need to feel welcome and comfortable at work. That’s why we foster a culture of openness and approachability. We’ve a real family culture which means that if our employees ever struggle mentally or physically, they can come to us and their managers. Because we know everyone at a personal level, we can tailor support and help them return to their very best.
Managing finances can be tricky. That’s we’ve introduced Neyber which offers exclusive financial benefits to employees. It provides tools, tips and guides to help manage finances plus affordable loans, without any credit checks, which can be repaid straight from employees’ salaries.
Caring for a child, studying or travelling – sometimes our employees need a career break. We give our colleagues the chance to give up work temporarily without giving up their career with a period of unpaid leave from work of between 6 months and a year. It allows them to interrupt their career to concentrate on something else.
Every member of our team can get involved in Employee Volunteering. Painting a local village hall or helping a homeless shelter – the charities we support recommended by our colleagues are often personally important to them. After volunteering, we often bring our colleagues together for a BBQ, to relax and get to know each other. Helping out is fun.
