Corporate Social Responsibility

What does corporate social responsibility mean for us?

For EnviroVent corporate social responsibility is about how we conduct business and build relationships with the world in which we operate. It is about our commitment and responsibility in terms of what is most important to us - our shareholders, employees, customers, suppliers, environment, community and ethics at the heart of our business. It is our quest to minimise any negative impacts on our activities in continuing to strive for positive outcomes, which enables sustainable development for both EnviroVent and the wider world around us.

Customers

Our business and livelihood depend on our customers. EnviroVent's purpose for being in business is to listen and understand their needs and then exceed their expectations before, during, and after the delivery of our product and service, and to do it better than any other company in our industry.

We are constantly improving our reputation as a specialist, caring company by providing "added value" for our clients at every opportunity. We aim to further develop state-of-the-art technology to serve the quality and delivery needs of our customers.

Community

EnviroVent works with over 500 Housing Association Bodies and communities on a daily basis - all of which are recognising the clear benefits brought by installing EnviroVent products. In addition, we support the local communities in which we operate through employing local installers and engineers. We also educate Tenant Management Organisations in solving condensation problems and promoting health. We are committed to supporting various charities including St Michael's Hospice and MacMillan Cancer Research.

We are fully supportive of any charity team building initiatives that colleagues wish to part take in. Regular events that take place include the annual dragon boat race, 10k charity run's, coffee morning's, dress down days and the charity football match.

We have twice entered St Michael’s Hospice’s ‘You’re Inspired Campaign’ an event aimed at raising as much money as possible during the month of October. We raised a total of £7000 in just one month in 2015, and £4,463 in 2016.

In June 2016 over 230 colleagues from EnviroVent volunteered to help others in the local community as part of our 'In It Together' day. It was great to be supporting local charities and projects including Horticap, Saint Michael's Hospice, Henshaws Arts & Crafts Centre, Dementia Forward and Corinna's Corner. A great experience and fantastic to see everyone working together to make it happen!

Some quotes about the day:

"I think the day was excellent and enjoyed by many, for most people who were unfamiliar with each other to come together and work as a team goes to show what a strong group of employees EnviroVent has and that we firmly believe in the company's values."

"It was great to work alongside colleagues you would not normally work with and helping a very good cause at the same time. Very satisfying and rewarding day."

"It was a genuine pleasure to help a worthwhile cause and to see the reaction of those we helped. It was also extremely pleasing to work with great colleagues and get to know them a little better."

"The feeling of giving something back to go the community was fantastic as was the fun aspect of working as a team with colleagues who you would not normally work with"

Environment

EnviroVent’s ethos revolves around delivering sustainable products that are built to last the life cycle of a building. Not only do our products minimise environmental impact but our business processes do too.

Improving energy efficiency

At the heart of every product in the Lifetime Range® lies the EnviroVent Ultra Low Watt DC/EC Motor. This eco-technology allows fans to operate using the lowest possible energy, generating efficient power and thereby reducing carbon emissions.

Increasing reuse and recycling, reducing waste

In order to reduce the impact of plastics going to landfill, EnviroVent has taken the responsibility to recycle old, existing traditional extract fans when they are replaced by our products. This involves the products being ground down and remoulded into plastic parts for other ventilation products within the Lifetime Range®, such as heat recovery units and whole house ventilation systems. By carrying out this process, EnviroVent is ensuring that these plastics should never end up on landfill sites.

EnviroVent is compliant with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations (WEEE).

All Lifetime Range product packaging is already 80% recycled, stamped with clear instructions to return it to the factory to be recycled/reused or to recycle it themselves. We are committed to reducing our carbon footprint by encouraging staff to recycle using the recycling bins provided in every department.

Suppliers and partners

Our suppliers play a vital role in EnviroVent’s production and services. As a UK manufacturer, we recognise that local sourcing has a great impact on supporting the local economy and community. With this in mind, we endeavour to choose local suppliers, which in turn help to reduce our carbon footprint. We are committed to working with suppliers who ensure the welfare of workers and exceed recognised standards.

At EnviroVent we believe that our business partnerships are long-term commitments and are a fundamental part of the way we do business. Through building ‘value-chains,’ we work to support suppliers and subcontractors so that we can improve the way we do business.

Health & Safety

Safety and security is the highest priority at all times for employees and customers. We strive to provide a safe, healthy and secure working environment and are committed to continuous improvement in Health and Safety policies and training.
