Havebury Housing's reactive maintenance programme is set to bring significant savings into the future whilst helping them to reduce their carbon footprint which is something else Havebury have been enthusiastically proactive about as far as their housing stock are concerned.
When it comes to dealing with the prospect of condensation and mould issues within their housing stock Havebury Housing Partnership have been working on the basis that ‘prevention is better than cure’. Their reactive maintenance programme is set to bring significant savings into the future whilst helping them to reduce their carbon footprint which is something else Havebury have been enthusiastically proactive about as far as their housing stock are concerned.
Housing plays a major role in the UK’s ambitious target to reduce its carbon emissions by 80% for 2050. Through their refurbishment programme, which included improvements such as double glazing, cavity wall and loft insulation, Havebury have achieved a carbon emission reduction of 56% over the last 16 years.
Havebury wanted a product that would fit in with their long term commitment to reduce carbon emissions whilst providing their tenants with a healthy indoor living environment free from condensation and mould. EnviroVent’s Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) Units were chosen because of their environmentally friendly characteristics and proven track record in providing energy efficient ventilation solutions for households across the nation.
PIV is a whole house ventilation method which works by drawing fresh, filtered air in from outside and gently ventilating the home from a central position. EnviroVent’s units are powered by an ultra low watt motor, utilising the latest technology to keep energy use to a minimum and therefore reducing carbon emissions.
What’s more, EnviroVent have designed each unit to last the life- cycle of the property it is installed in, engineered with recyclable components which can be re-worked back at their factory in Harrogate. Easy to maintain and backed-up by an ongoing 5 year warranty, EnviroVent’s PIV units offer attractive long term life-cycle savings.
The Maintenance co-ordinator at Havebury, Michael Whatley, said,
“Havebury chose to fit EnviroVent’s Positive Input Ventilation units because they provide whole house ventilation and actively help combat condensation in our tenant’s homes. Also, the units use the lowest possible energy consumption resulting in low running costs which benefit our tenants in terms of them managing their money.”
He added:
“Havebury is committed to reducing its carbon emissions and, using EnviroVent’s PIV Units as part of our ongoing programme of work, will help us to continue to achieve this.”
In these days of rising energy costs it makes sense to choose products which offer significant savings to both registered providers and their tenants.
